In Defense of Freedom
Following the terrorist
attacks of September 11, 2001, more than 150 organizations, 300 law professors,
and 40 computer scientists came together to sign a statement, called In Defense
of Freedom (IDOF). This statement insists that those who perpetrated the
terrorist acts and killed thousands of innocent Americans be held accountable
for their actions while upholding the principles of a democratic society and
without eroding the liberties and freedoms that are fundamental to the American
way of life.
